The Billionaire’s Pretend Wife (Preston Brothers #1) by Leslie North

Penelope Fox thought she was applying to be an assistant to billionaire Drew Preston. With her business savvy, she’s hoping she can help Drew’s successful shipping company reach new heights. Too bad the position she applied for isn’t as his assistant: it’s as his young son’s nanny. With her bank account nearly dry, Penny’s desperate enough to take the job. But when Drew is meeting with the owner of his next potential acquisition, the other man mistakes Penelope for Drew’s wife—and to her surprise, she agrees to play along. Even more shocking? The way she’s beginning to feel about this maddening, passionate man.

Drew learned the hard way to never mix business with pleasure. His ex-wife is proof. But it’s difficult to ignore his attraction to his son’s nanny. There’s more to Penny than meets the eye. She’s as brilliant with business as she is with his son. And with him—in bed. All his orderly lines get all tangled up. Playing along with a fake marriage is one thing. Wishing it was real shakes him to his core.

As the business deal Drew wanted so badly goes south, so does his fledgling relationship with Penny, leaving him wondering if there can be any pleasure in business without Penny by his side.

This is the 1st in a trilogy by Leslie North. Penelope Fox is a vivacious and gorgeous woman who thought she was applying for a job as an assistant at Preston Inc, but Drew Preston looks at her resume and assumes she's there for another reason. Drew Preston is looking for a nanny for his son, since his previous nanny has left for pastures new. Drew is trying to sort out a deal and he person assumes Penny is Drew's wife. What happens when you mix business with pleasure. You have to read this book and it's a start of a terrific series.

Reading Leslie North books has got me back to reading again after a lengthy 2 months.

Black: A Romantic Revenge Thriller (Colors of Crime #2) by Sophie Lark

A Second Chance For Love And Revenge…

When Byron Black returns to London for his sister’s wedding, he bumps into a gorgeous redhead determined to steal a dance. Holly Summers was just the skinny little girl from across the hall, but now she’s London’s hottest political advisor, in more ways than one.

Black and Holly swear they’re just friends, but friends don’t usually tear one another’s clothes off. They’ve got to keep it professional, because Holly’s campaign is being targeted by a mad bomber, and Black sees frightening similarities to an old case that blew up in his face.

It’s the worst possible time to fall in love. Black’s feelings for Holly will make her the next target of this old enemy back from the dead, and bent on revenge.

“Black” is an explosive, heart-pounding, sheet-soaking romantic thriller, Book 2 in the Colors of Crime series. It’s a standalone novel complete with HEA, and no cliff-hangers. Only for mature readers who love steamy hookups with a side of danger.

I received an advanced review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is the second book in the Colours of Crime series. Byron Black is back with a vengeance after what happened to him in Sapphire (book 1). This book looks at how Bryon started in the Met and a case he's been asked to work on brings back memories. BUT there is a woman who has been sitting on the sidelines waiting for Bryon Black. Her name is Holly Summers and she is someone who he's not seen for quite a while (since being a youngster).

What has Holly got to do with his latest case? Are the Citizens back to their old tricks again? Who is trying to kill the campaign that Holly is the political adviser for? Will Bryon get the girl or will his past come back to haunt him?

All will be revealed when you read Black.

The Cowboy's Stubborn Sweetheart (Brothers of the Cooper Ranch #3) by Leslie North

Julianna Norrell’s dream of leaving Montana for big city life in NYC was wonderful—until it all went bust. She’d tempted fate by getting a fine arts degree in photography, and believing one brilliant show would make her career take off. But three years later she’s a borderline starving artist, making a living off of stock art photography. Plus, she's just been on the wrong side of a copyright infringement case and no gallery in New York will touch her. Se when her mother seriously breaks her leg at the same time Julianna gives up her lease, it seems fate is pulling her back to where she started: Cooper Ranch.

Wright Cooper has come home to lick his wounds. After being a major fundraiser in a failed political run, most of America has started to hate his guts, and Wright himself is beginning to wonder when he’d stopped vetting his politician’s ideas and simply started funding them. Now, he’s home to dust off his boots and find himself again in the beautiful land that had made him want to enact change for his country in the first place.

When the two childhood sweethearts suddenly find themselves living under the same roof, they’ll need to decide if they’re coming home for good, or simply stopping over before losing each other once again.

I would like to thank Leslie North for writing a brilliant ending to the Brothers of Cooper Ranch.

Wright Cooper is a go getter in the political world, but when the man he's endorsing is caught out, he goes home to lick his wounds and finds his ex-sweetheart Julianna Norrell there. Julianna Norrell is a woman who's life was taking off in the art world, but when an article saying that she's in copyright infringement and no gallery will touch her and then finds out her mother has broken her lg, she goes back to Cooper Ranch with her tail between her legs. Can Wright Cooper and Julianna Norrell work together to help each other or will their love for each other get in the way?

All will be revealed in the final installment of Brothers of Cooper Ranch.

The Rancher’s Unexpected Baby (Brothers of the Cooper Ranch #2) by Leslie North

To Maxwell Cooper’s great pleasure, his horses of quality Quarab stock have been well received by American buyers. His goal of selling to the Arab royal family would give his breeding business international credibility and prove that he wasn’t the bad apple everyone had assumed. After missing his opportunity at auction two years in a row, he’s been invited to back to back VIP sales and word on the street is that the royal family is going to be in attendance. And nothing will stop him from keeping his eye on the prize this time.

Lena Fudge had been traveling the circuit as a newbie horse trader, but found herself fired after she passed along a hot tip while having hot sex with Maxwell Cooper. Now disgraced, she finds herself back in her family’s home in the middle of nowhere horse country. Learning she’s pregnant adds insult to injury, and despite her best efforts she’s fulfilling her family’s curse of living at home. She knows she has to tell Maxwell about the baby, but she refuses to ask for his help till she has her ducks in a row. That is until she runs into Maxwell at the auction stables after being rejected from a last ditch attempt to get her old job back.

Maxwell has been dreaming of Lena since their night of passion four months ago. One look at her, and being pretty sure he was the one to pop her cherry, he realizes he’s the father. But Maxwell knows Lena’s pride would not allow him to take care of her, so he asks her to work with him as a horse trader. It’s not charity. As it turns out, Lena is the full package. She’s a dream in the stables, amazing with buyers, and not adverse to a roll in the hay. But when things begin to go deeper than just a sale or sex, they’ll find them find themselves racing toward a bidding war that will either have them living a life of love or losing it all.

I would like to thank Leslie North for writing a brilliant 2nd part to the Brothers of the Cooper Ranch.

I've been meaning to read this part of the series for a while and it didn't disappoint as it introduces us to Maxwell Cooper who is a quiet but surprisingly forceful when needed and Lena Fudge who is feisty & pregnant woman. I think Lena is a horse whisperer and she also has this in spades when it comes to talking potential buyers in buying from Cooper Ranch. Maxwell Cooper is determined to sell his prize horse to the Arabs, but will they be interested when they meet Lena Fudge (pregnant and showing). But Maxwell thinks he knows best, will they buy his prize horse or will he be doomed to lose the sale and Lean at the same time. Time will tell.

Angelica: To accompany the Fallen Angel Series by Tracie Podger

Do you believe in love at first sight?

I didn’t, in fact, I didn’t believe in love at all.

That was until the man with the dirty blond hair rescued me from hell.

Angelica has spent her short life in servitude.

Unofficially married at twelve and caring as best she can for stolen and abused children wasn’t the servitude she expected, though.

When Angelica realised she needed to run, or die trying, her only hope was that the Sartorri family would take her in.

She hadn’t banked on the man with the blue eyes and the dirty blond hair.

She hadn’t banked on falling for someone twice her age and who couldn’t even speak her language.

It was doomed to fail….wasn’t it?

THE AUTHOR ADVISES THAT YOU READ FALLEN ANGEL, PART 6 BEFORE THIS NOVELLA

Readers of the Fallen Angel series first meet Angelica in Fallen Angel, Part 6 and it is recommended that you ask about Angelica before reading this novella if you are not familiar with her backstory. This novella will be uncomfortable reading for some. For readers over the age of 18 due to the content.

I was honoured to read this last part of the Fallen Angel short stories that celebrate the main characters in this enticing and brilliant series.

Angelica is a young girl who's body is broken due to the family she is enslaved in. Her mother worked for the family and the son claimed Angelica for his own. What happens to Angelica's spirit is a miracle and when she gets away is nothing of a miracle.

A short story about the most brilliant woman you would ever meet with a spirit to match.

Evelyn: To accompany the Fallen Angel series (Fallen Angel #2.5) by Tracie Podger

Evelyn was sixteen years old when she fell in love. She fell in love with a murderer.

Rocco has been sent from Italy to live with the Morietti family in Washington, DC, for his safety, for his protection. He hadn’t banked on meeting the beautiful, but young, Evelyn, the daughter of the man who has given him refuge. He hadn’t banked on falling in love.

How hard is it to love the daughter of the man who holds your fate in his hands? And once you fall, how hard is it to keep your love a secret? Which is the greater threat to them both, to keep their secret, or to admit and fight for each other?

Evelyn and Rocco are forced to accept a life of secret meetings, lies, love and loss. Few relationships can survive it, and not every romance has a happy ending. But if there is a chance....... is it not worth a try?

This is the story of young love, of dreams and hopes for a future not possible. This is the story of Evelyn.

Contemporary romance for readers over the age 18. Although part of the 5* Fallen Angel Series, this novella can be read as a standalone.

This is Evelyn's story of how she fell in love with a bad boy for two years before he became hers and then when she lost him, the devastation that followed to when she met Robert Stone and Travis Curran.

Evelyn has everything she could ever want being from a Mafia family, but when she falls in love with Rocco at 16 years old, she doesn't know what heartbreak is until she loses the man of her dreams one day. Her mother has passed away, so she has to take on that role for her crushed father, a sister that has gone into her shell and a toddler brother. She also has feelings for the man who her father has taken on. What can she do?

You will have to find out what happens when Rocco and Evelyn get together. Can they have a happy ever after? Why has Robert Stone crossed her path? Can she find love again? Read Evelyn's story today.

Robert: To accompany the Fallen Angel Series - A Mafia Romance (Fallen Angel #0.5) by Tracie Podger

Robert Stone was six years old when his parents were killed and he was left to live a life of abuse at the hands of a mad, religious aunt in America. At the age of eleven, alone and rejected, he cracked - with terrible consequences. But he survived.

Today he lives a life immersed in the world of crime and deadly secrets. As the head of a powerful organisation, he is a wealthy and very powerful man. He enjoys his very private life and he answers to no one. Until one day he meets a woman - a woman that will challenge everything he is and everything he has been.

This is the story of a remarkable man, a dangerous man. His life in his words. This is the story of Robert Stone.

Contemporary romance for readers over 18.

Although part of the Amazon best selling Fallen Angel series, Robert can be read as a standalone or prequel to Fallen Angel, Part I

This is how the whole story starts. Robert Stone is a man of mystery at the start of Fallen Angels series. Who was his parents? Why was he on the streets? What made this meek boy become the man he is today?

Robert Stone is alone. His parents are dead, he's being shipped off to a woman who thinks he's the DEVIL. This is Robert's story of how he became the man we know him to be now. How a little boy with NOTHING was fighting for his life and how he met his best friend Travis and the sweetest woman Evelyn (who gave him a chance at life and being a part of a family).

This is a brilliant book and explains stuff as you carry on reading Fallen Angel series.
