My Husband's Wife by Jane Corry

There's a fine line between love...and murder.
When lawyer Lily marries Ed, she's determined to make a fresh start. To leave the secrets of the past behind.
But then she meets Joe. A convicted murderer who Lily is strangely drawn to. Who she will soon be willing to risk anything for.
But is he really innocent?
And who is she to judge?

Perfect for readers of Liane Moriarty and Clare Mackintosh, get hooked on the story that everyone's talking about.

I would like to thank Netgalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
When this was recommended to me for reading, I was like jumping at the bit to read it as I've liked reading Liane Moriarty book and Clare Mackintosh books in the past. Well I can honestly say this wasn't grabbing me till about 83% in the story. Could be due to the part that the characters I wasn't meshing with in the storyline. It was all confusing swapping between the 2 main female characters. I kept asking myself will it get any better. What are they to do with each other? Who are these other characters and what have they got to do with this story.
It became apparent later as the story carried on who they were and what role they played. It was as it got to the ending that I was understanding the storyline. I look forward to seeing what the next book this author writes as she has a great understanding of the autism spectrum and other things going on in the world.

Liar Liar (Helen Grace #4) by M.J. Arlidge

Detective Helen Grace gets caught in an inferno of death and destruction in the red-hot new thriller from the author of Eeny MeenyPop Goes the Weasel, and The Doll’s House

Detective Helen Grace has never seen such destruction. Six fires in twenty-four hours. Two people dead. Several more injured. It’s as if someone wants to burn the city to the ground...

With the whole town on high alert, Helen and her team must sift through the rubble to find the arsonist, someone whose thirst for fire—and control—is reducing entire lives to ashes.

One misstep could mean Helen’s career—and more lives lost. And as the pressure mounts and more buildings burn, Helen’s own dark impulses threaten to consume her…

I want to thank M.J. Arlidge for allowing me to read this wonderful series so far.

When I started Liar Liar, I wasn't sure what the arsons was to do with the storyline, but as it got further in, it was alarmingly worrisome that people are setting fires for no apparent reason. Helen accusing someone and that someone from that group is accusing her of stuff. It makes intriguing reading for goes on inside the mind of an arsonist.

I can't wait to read Little Boy Blue to see what else happens with Helen Grace next and what is her superior up to. All will be revealed in Liar Liar.

The Woman in Black (Jessica Daniel #3) by Kerry Wilkinson

Someone has left a severed hand in the centre of Manchester and the only clue Detective Sergeant Jessica Daniel has to go on is CCTV footage of a woman in a long black robe placing it carefully on the ground.

With a lengthy missing persons list and frantic families wondering if the body part could belong to their absent loved ones, the detective has plenty to deal with – and that’s before a detached finger arrives for her in the post.

By the time a second hand is found and a local MP’s wife goes missing, Jessica is left struggling to find out who the appendages
belong to, how they are connected and just what the mysterious woman in black has to do with it all.

I would like to thank Kerry Wilkinson for writing a great series so far. The pages turning and the twists in the storylines you'd never have guessed. Also having 2 storylines in a brilliant book is so imaginative and down right good.

The Woman In Black makes you think with all the twists and turns of the story. Two different stories that divide the whole team down the middle. Where is the local MP's wife and who is the woman in black has the Manchester Police chasing their tails with the local media hanging around 1 particular scene when the other needs the coverage just as bad. What happens with DS Jessica Daniels social life as her best friend's wedding is coming up. Will she catch the killer in time?

Moment of Impact by Rene D. Schultz

MOMENT OF IMPACT

In one moment of impact, lives change forever and there is no going back to before. As much as we try or do not want to…we must always continue to take small steps forward. This pushes us to move through the pain and sorrow, for if we lose the will to live…we lose that chance for a new beginning. ~Rene d. Schultz

Seven people board a train to Los Angeles. Each one with their own story… In that one ‘moment of impact’ the train crash will change their lives forever. Some will live and some will die, but the catastrophic rippling effect of the crash will leave many lives and families shattered.

Take this journey….as lives change forever….

I love Rene's books and this 1 was no different. Her characters are intense and so real to you. It makes you feel as if you're watching or seeing the incidents happen right in front of you.

7 lives are changed forever by a moment of impact. Families that will never be the same again. A train derailed, lives thrown into chaos. Who's to blame and what happens to those 7 lives will never be the same again. A must read for any fan of Rene Schultz.

The Girl in the Red Coat by Kate Hamer

She is the missing girl. But she doesn't know she's lost.
Carmel Wakeford becomes separated from her mother at a local children's festival, and is found by a man who claims to be her estranged grandfather. He tells her that her mother has had an accident and that she is to live with him for now. As days become weeks with her new family, 8-year-old Carmel realises that this man believes she has a special gift...
While her mother desperately tries to find her, Carmel embarks on an extraordinary journey, one that will make her question who she is - and who she might become.

I couldn't get into this book at all. I gave it to 30% and didn't understand the characters as it was all over the place for my taste. I would like to thank the author for writing this book, but sorry to say it's not for me.

14th Deadly Sin (Women's Murder Club #14) by James Patterson & Maxine Paetro

With San Francisco under siege and everyone a suspect, the Women's Murder Club must risk their lives to save the city-and each other. With a beautiful baby daughter and a devoted husband, Detective Lindsay Boxer can safely say that her life has never been better. In fact (for a change), things seem to be going well for all the members of the Women's Murder Club as they gather to celebrate San Francisco Medical Examiner Claire Washburn's birthday. But the party is cut short when Lindsay is called to a gruesome crime scene, where a woman has been murdered in broad daylight. As Lindsay investigates, shocking video footage of another crime surfaces. A video so horrific that it shakes the city to its core. Their faces obscured by masks, the cold blooded criminals on the tape could be anyone-and now all of Lindsay's co-workers are suspects. As a rash of violence sweeps through San Francisco, and public fear and anger grows, Lindsay and her friends must risk their lives in the name of justice-before it's too late. With shocking twists and riveting suspense, 14TH DEADLY SIN, proves yet again that when it comes to suspense fiction, in the words or Jeffrey Deaver: "nobody does it better" than James Patterson.

I would like to thank the author and publisher for allowing me to read this 14th book in the Women's Murder Club series.

It starts off with a great storyline and follows Lindsay and gang along the path of some SFPD cops and whether they are dirty or if someone is looking like them. Someone else is murdering women in the middle of the day and no one saw anything. Who are these people and why are they targeting the SFPD? You don't get to see much of Claire and Cindy in this book. But Yuki and Lindsay are the main characters in this book and they things they have to go up against is like nothing you've seen before. I found some of it really good and some of it pretentious to what would happen next. It left it on a cliff hanger as well, so I need to find out what happens next.

Can't wait till book 15 is out which I will definitely be reading.
