STOLEN by Dawn Kopman Whidden
Will detective Marty Keal and Jean Whitley be able to find out the identity of a little boy before it’s too late?
In the riveting mystery novel Stolen, detective Marty Keal is on leave handling personal business when he is drawn back into a case with all of the makings of a sinister event. His partner, detective Jean Whitley, is first on the scene of a horrible crime that took place in a cabin in the woods. She arrives to find an older man dead, a younger man seriously wounded and a half naked child in the back of the cabin who’s apparently been missing for 3 months. Then, the detective finds a little boy running through the woods with little clothes and barely able to communicate. The police have a lot on their plate as they race to find out who the nameless men in the cabin are, who is the distressed little boy and what is the possibly frightening connection between them all?
Highly reviewed author Dawn Kopman Whidden has penned yet another disturbingly memorable mystery that lovers of Patricia Cornwell and James Patterson will be clamoring to read. From beginning to end, Stolen is a fast paced murder mystery with a twist around every turn!
Stolen is a standalone novel that features two intriguing detectives from Dawn Kopman Whidden’s previous mystery novels A Child Torn & Faceless: A Mystery.
I was asked to review this book by the author. Well I can honestly say I have loved all the twists and turns of this story. It's given me an in depth look at the characters. It makes me feel as if I am watching the story via a tv programme like Bones/Criminal Minds lol.
This starts off with a murder (like all good thrillers) that has some suspicious characters and why is a child screaming their head off in the woods I wouldn't know. Also carries on with The Captain (Marty's dad) on how he is and what happened with him in the previous book. I've still got reservations on Detective Jean Whitley as I think she can sometimes be a bit stuck up. But I have loved the way Dawn winds her characters around situations that is beyond anyone's control. She has shown us how Marty's family are involved in this book more from the past. The twists you do not see coming and the way things go with this story, I think it will be another Best Seller for Ms Whidden.
A Million Guilty Pleasures (Million Dollar Duet #2) by C.L. Parker
Two million dollars secured Noah Crawford the most enticing woman he has ever known. Initiating Delaine Talbot into a sensuous world of pleasure took them both to the brink - again and again. But when Noah discovers why the beautiful innocent sold her body to the highest bidder, he's faced with the hardest thing he ever had to do: set her free.
Lanie can't believe Noah would let her go. Doesn't he know they share a bond deeper than sex - a connection too powerful to sever? Not even a treacherous enemy out to destroy Noah or the dark secret haunting the multimillionaire can keep them apart. But first Lanie has to show him that he belongs to her, even if it means risking everything for a love that can never be bought or sold.
I was asked to review this for Netgalley. I've read book 1 which gave you the insight to the characters - Delaine (Laine), Noah, Dez, David, Polly, Mason, Faye and Mack.
Delaine originally sold her body for a cool $2 million to get her mother (Faye) a heart transplant as she was dying. Noah was the person who bought her. No one knew they would fall in love. David Stone is Noah Crawford's business partner and ex-best friend. He is so obnoxious and conniving little so and so lol. I wouldn't want to cross him on a dark night. I loved the sex scenes in this book, the way Noah and Laine fought tooth and nail not to let ANYONE know their secret. I also loved the ending of the book and would love to read more of C.L. Parker's books in the future.

A Million Dirty Secrets (Million Dollar Duet #1) by C.L. Parker
You can't put a price on love - so they say...
When a medical condition threatens to tear apart Lanie Talbot's family, she makes the ultimate sacrifice. With no time and no other option, Lanie puts herself up for sale at an underground, high-end establishment where women are auctioned off to influential, wealthy men with more money than sense.
Enter Noah Crawford: millionaire business mogul and Chicago's most eligible bachelor. But Noah's distrust in relationships has led him to make a very desperate decision of his own - purchasing a woman to satisfy his every desire. No strings attached, no heartbreak, and no way anyone will ever know. Just two million dollars to have his wicked way with Lanie Talbot for two years . . .
Lanie and Noah's relationship is explosive. When they fight, they take no prisoners. When they love, they show no mercy. When they combine the two, they never want to leave each other's arms. But did they both get more than they bargained for?
A MILLION DIRTY SECRETS is the first part of a scorching hot romantic duet that promises to be this generation's Pretty Woman.
I bought this as I had been given book 2 by Netgalley to review. Now as far as 50 Shades goes, this book has to be up there with the best of them. C.L. Parker's A Million Dirty Secrets is just that, a million dirty, naughty secrets.
Noah Crawford is a rich and powerful man who could have any woman he wants, but after a relationship goes wrong, he walks into a seedy joint and BUYS Delaine Talbot for a cool $2 million. Delaine Talbot (prefers Laine) is a 24 yr old woman who's mother has a heart condition and she desperately needs a heart transplant, the only way Laine can get it for her is to sell herself to the highest bidder in this seedy joint which happened to be Noah Crawford.
This goes back and forth between them. Their feelings, the sex they have and how they perceive each other. Neither thought what would happen between them would. This is one hell of a scorching book that makes you feel for BOTH the characters. Can't wait to read A Million Guilty Pleasures.

Where the Bodies Are Buried - Christopher Brookmyre
“A strident blast of the trumpet to wake up crime fiction readers everywhere.” —Val McDermid
When small-time heroin dealer Jai McDiarmid turns up dead one fine Glasgow morning, no one is that surprised. A heroin dealer openly sleeping with a big-time drug trafficker’s girlfriend, Jai had made a lot of enemies in a city with little patience for those stirring up trouble. As a result, Detective Superintendent Catherine McLeod has no shortage of early leads on the case when she is assigned to investigate it.
Meanwhile, out-of-work actress Jasmine Sharp is facing more pressing problems. She’s agreed to help out her “Uncle” Jim with his private investigation work, but is having trouble learning the ropes. As a former actress, lying to people comes naturally to Jasmine, but she’s less adept at tailing her targets and remaining undercover. She’s facing a steep learning curve—and is thrown in at the deep end when Uncle Jim goes missing and she realizes that it’s going to be up to her to find him.
Jasmine begins looking into the cases that Jim was investigating just before he disappeared and goes to meet a man called Tron Ingrams, whose name and address she finds in one of Jim’s case files. Having tracked him down successfully, she is feeling rather pleased with herself—that is, until the car in which they’re traveling comes under gunfire. Who are the assailants—and are they after Tron or Jasmine? Detective Superintendent McLeod’s investigation is also getting complicated: a tip-off that there are explosives in Glasgow’s train station proves to be fake, and a clutch of further murders of some of Glasgow’s drug dealers ramp up the pressure on her to solve the case. Her investigation and Jasmine’s become intertwined, and it becomes increasingly clear that neither is as simple as it seems.
Where the Bodies Are Buried is a gritty, fast-paced thriller that will appeal to Brookmyre’s fans as well as being the ideal book to introduce readers to his work.
I was given this to read through Netgalley. I thought it was going to be a fast paced kind of book. Unfortunately for me, I never really got into the pace of it at all. I've never read anything by this author and to be honest, I am not sure I will again.
I can just about understand the Glasgow accent, but I just never grasped the characters. Sorry to those that did enjoy his book, I just didn't get to grips with it.

The Billionaire Biker (The Billionaire's Club #3) by Jackie Ashenden
The Billionaire’s Club: a fabulously sexy contemporary series about some of the world’s wealthiest, most powerful men and the women they claim…and keep.
I was asked to review this book in a series. This is the third and final book in the The Billionaire's Club series. This introduces the final brother Sean Morrow and his love interest Abigail Prescott.
I wasn't keen at the beginning with Sean and his attitude with the way he was treating Abby, but as the story got underway, it finally started picking up. I love the raunchy scenes with how fierce they both was. I think the Sean character could of done with a bit more in depth to why his father didn't want to know and what Jax did for him for standing up against Jax's mum (Sean's step mother). But all in all I loved the way these books all came together and incorporated all 3 brothers.

The Billion Dollar Bad Boy (The Billionaire's Club #2) - Jackie Ashenden
The Billionaire’s Club: a fabulously sexy contemporary series about some of the world’s wealthiest, most powerful men and the women they claim…and keep.
Well I was asked to review this and I bought book 1 so I could understand the concept of the story.
This book is about Donavan Morrow. Son number 2 in the Morrow clan. He has to sell a piece of land to the De Winter family, but does he really want to sell it? It's another sexy fast paced kind of story with plenty of raunchy scenes.
How far would you go to save a piece of your birthright?

BROKEN IMAGE by Rene D. Schultz
Women are constantly pressured with the overwhelming message that achieving ‘perfect beauty’ is mandatory to be accepted and successful.
Mercedes survived a childhood with a hateful and mentally ill mother who constantly called her an ‘ugly duckling.’ Now, at twenty-nine, she’s a brilliant financial icon in Beverly Hills. She knew she was not beautiful, or stunning, or even close to either. She was plain, simple, and ordinary. Not at all close to what some, even her friends, considered ‘acceptable.’ Take this journey with Mercedes and her four friends who live in a city that judges a woman solely by her outside and not her inside. Will the pressure to obtain beauty become her downfall? Will Mercedes be forced to face decisions that would change her life forever? Or will reality raise its ugly head and teach her the biggest lesson of her life?
I have read this authors books before and if you haven't, then YOU NEED TO!
I was asked to read this as I love the author. Her books are about real life and the things that happen. Have you worried about what you look like? Do you wished your body could be better. Then please read this book and see what happens when 1 woman with the peer pressure around her makes her look at herself and think this is what she wants/needs on the streets of Beverly Hills.
I loved the intricate ways the author wove her tale and makes you as a reader think about self image and how far would you go to be perfect.
The Billion Dollar Bachelor (The Billionaire's Club #1) by Jackie Ashenden
Now on sale for a limited time!
Jax Morrow is a dangerously handsome, spectacularly wealthy entrepreneur whose world is turned upside down when Pandora Garret walks into a dark, smoky bar one night—a stunning combination of sex and innocence. He knows she’s trouble at first sight, but Jax can’t let her leave…unless she’s leaving with him.
I have the other 2 books in the series to read and thought I best read from book 1. I wasn't sure how this book would of come out as it was only 100 pages. I found the characters rather normal in the beginning and wasn't sure how they were going to interact. Jax was a brash kinda character in a bar getting sloshed lol, then in comes Pandora all sexy as hell lol. The attraction between them is electrifying and boy do they get into so sexual scenes.
I loved the boy and fell in love with Jax (Bad Boy as always lol). Can't wait to read book 2 - The Billion Dollar Bad Boy (The Billionaire's Club #2).

Embers & Ice - Isabella Modra
Everyone is wrong about hell.
Vulnerable and weak after her battle with her guardian Joshua, Hunter is snatched up by the Agents who work for a ruthless and cold institution called ICE. There, Hunter is imprisoned with other mutants of different ages and abilities, forced into a nightmare of constant experiments and brutality.
Joshua is a mess. Frantically trying to fix the mistakes he made, Joshua embarks on a quest across the country to find Hunter and rescue her. But the company he keeps is continuously distracting him, and Joshua can’t control the strange feelings of love and comfort that begin to boil inside his cold, icy heart.
Will Hunter escape and find her fire again, or will Joshua and his mistakes find her first?
I was asked to read this by the author as I had read her previous book Rouge which I adored. This carries on from where Rouge finished. Hunter has been caught by the Agents and is sent to ICE. You get to meet loads of different and weird characters who has special powers like Hunter. You also get to know a slight bit more about Joshua, Eli and Jenny on a road trip.
I loved the way Hunter is starting to make herself into a hero and she starts standing up for herself. There are a few twists and turns in this compelling book 2 of the series and the twist at the end will want you to get Isabella Modra writing the next part in the series
*Hint* Isabella Modra, if you are reading this, PLEASE HURRY UP with book 3 ;) x
