Tragic Desires - A.M. Hargrove

My name is Gemini Sheridan. At least that’s what I thought it was for 23 years. Then one day a slight adjustment on the wheel of my mountain bike set into motion a series of catastrophic events that changed my life forever. Now I’m running from the headaches that threaten to destroy me… from the assassins that threaten to kill me… from the truth that exposes who I really am… and from the man that wants to save me. Because he now owns my heart and I fear him above all others.

My name is Drexel Wolfe and I’m a private investigator. Nothing ever stands in the way of what I want because when I see something I just take it. All of that changed the night my life collided with Gemini Sheridan’s and now everything is one hot damn mess. And the worst part of it all is that I’m trying to save her ass and I don’t know why the hell I’m even bothering. Well, that’s not exactly true. Fact is, I can’t stop thinking about her. She’s crawled into every thought I own, asleep or awake. I have serious plans for her that include making her mine. What she doesn’t know is that when I play, I play for keeps. Nothing and no one will get in my way or stop me… not even Gemini Sheridan herself.

* This book contains sexually explicit scenes and strong language and is not suitable for younger readers.

** This book is a STAND ALONE companion novel to TRAGICALLY FLAWED, part of the Tragic Series.

When I was passed this book, I wasn't sure on the content as I hadn't read the previous book. So after reading Tragically Flawed I was like I have got to read this.

It starts off a bit slow and the chapters are named with the 2 main Characters. Gemini Sheridan is a fun outgoing kinda girl before her accident and then she has these major headaches that she has to cope with. Drexel Wolfe (who we casually met in Tragically Flawed) is a PI with a mission to complete. No one knows who he really is or what he is capable of doing. When these 2 get together the WHOLE WORLD explodes into fast and furious race for their lives.

I loved getting to know Drexel Wolfe a bit more and I LOVED his intense feelings for Gemini. Gemini I thought was a bit weird at first, but as the story unfolds with her own tragic past, I've warmed to her. All in all I LOVED the book.

Tragically Flawed - A.M. Hargrove

* This is a New Adult Contemporary Romance with Mature content that is not suitable for younger readers.

**This is a Stand Alone Companion Novel to Tragic Desires.

Riviera Benson’s past has been nothing but horrific. It’s filled with secrets that she intends to keep tightly locked away...terrifying secrets that keep her awake at night...that prevent her from getting close to anyone...anyone that is, until her work as a muralist drives her into the arms of the hot and sexy Shan.

Benjamin Shandon, owner of Shandon Homes, works like a thousand demons are chasing him...because perhaps they are. His business has boomed, ever since the forest fire swept through the canyon and destroyed hundreds of million dollar homes. He demands excellence in everything...from his employees to his women. He slows down for nothing, keeping a schedule that no sane person would want. But Riviera interrupts everything, twisting his guts inside out, and wedging her way into his heart, destroying a promise he made to himself.

Will they let their pasts control their future, or will they decide to let go and allow their hearts to discover each other’s?

I bought this 12th October 2013 and kept thinking I will read it as I LOVE A.M. Hargrove's books.

Well once I opened this book and started reading, I got all excited as it started with a scene that I found rather exciting. It showed you the background later of the main characters, I do despise certain characters (Marsha Sue and Jasper) and I fell in love with Shan (Benjamin Shandon) and Riveria (love her name). The way the story opens up with Riveria's background after the heated few chapters is astonishing.

It's made me laugh at times, made me mad at the characters and really sad at what Riveria went through.

A.M. Hargrove has done it again to me. She has made me sit up and push through hours of a story I just want to crawl into and shake/hit/punch/kill certain characters. Another massive well done to the author and now I am off to read the next in the series Tragic Desires.

Unlucky 13 - James Patterson

The Women's Murder Club is stalked by a killer with nothing to lose.

San Francisco Detective Lindsay Boxer is loving her life as a new mother. With an attentive husband, a job she loves, plus best friends who can talk about anything from sex to murder, things couldn't be better.

Then the FBI sends Lindsay a photo of a killer from her past, and her happy world is shattered. The picture captures a beautiful woman at a stoplight. But all Lindsay sees is the psychopath behind those seductive eyes: Mackie Morales, the most deranged and dangerous mind the Women's Murder Club has ever encountered.

In this pulse-racing, emotionally charged novel by James Patterson, the Women's Murder Club must find a killer--before she finds them first.

I was all over the place with this book. Took me longer to read and it got me all worked up to no end of what the heck was happening. I am sincerely not sure what Mr Patterson was doing with this book. There was 3 (YES 3) plots in this book. 1 was to do with Mackie Morales, 1 was to do with pirates and a ship and the other 1 is to do with a burger chain.

Not sure what to make of it, but there is some heroics as usual.

Death of an Intern - Keith M. Donaldson

Winner of a Finalist Award in the Mystery Category of the 2012 Next Generation Indie Book Awards A riveting, suspenseful introduction to Donaldson's series, Death of an Intern features Laura Wolfe, a tenacious beat reporter for the Washington Star. Laura tracks a DC serial killer who butchers pregnant women and steals their fetuses, dumping the naked bodies with no identification in an obscure part of the city. When shown the body of victim number two, Laura recognizes her as someone she remembers from a reception for the vice president of the United States.

The victim is quickly identified as Janet Rausch, and Laura begins digging into her background. When the public Janet does not match with the private one, Laura begins to question whether there may have been more to Janet's death than being a serial killing victim. Laura continues investigating and goes from the dirty back streets of DC to the nation's capital, to the Virginia suburbs, and into the polished halls of political Washington, as the public is terrorized by a third murder, showing all the signs of the previous two.

I was asked to review this from Netgalley.

I tried very hard to get into this as I know I usually love my Crime/Thriller books. I sooooooooo struggled to get past the first few pages and I am not usually 1 to moan, but I couldn't even understand the story.

Chaos Born Chronicles from the Applecross #1 - Rebekah Turner

A fresh and exciting debut novel introducing the Chronicles of the Applecross.

Lora Blackgoat, smuggler and mercenary, has been laying low after a job gone bad made her a laughing stock in the industry. When a childhood friend turns to her for help, Lora leaps to restore her reputation and starts hunting a killer who is stalking the gas-lit streets.

She never expects that her path will lead her to the Order of Guides, a sadistic militant religious organisation - or to Roman, a deadly and dangerously attractive half-angel warrior who also hunts the killer.

When Lora discovers that the killer has broken fundamental laws of magic to enter the city, she also uncovers a conspiracy that leads back into her own dark past.

I was asked to review this from Netgalley.

I found it hard to get into at the start of the book due to the pressure of the main character Lora Blackgoat not exactly grabbing my attention. For me personally, the characters aren't grabbing my attention long enough for me to continue. I am finding the plot a bit boring as it progresses. The synopsis is a grabber and will make you want to read it, but for me, I just couldn't understand the storyline.

Dangerous Dream (Dangerous Creatures 0.5) by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl

The #1 New York Times bestselling Beautiful Creatures series continues in this brand-new digital-exclusive story.

Catch up with Ethan, Lena, and Link as they finally graduate from high school and get ready to leave the small Southern town of Gatlin. But when Dark Caster Ridley makes an appearance, the sometime bad girl can't resist picking a fight with her sometime boyfriend, Link. Angry and rebellious as ever, Ridley ends up alone in New York City and becomes entangled in the dangerous underground Caster club scene, where the stakes are high and losers pay the ultimate price.

Where's a Linkubus when you need him?

I was asked to review this and I haven't read any of the Beautiful Creatures series before (seen the film only). I loved getting to know Ridley and Link in this book. I have got excited a few times in the book as it makes me feel more nervous for Ridley as she is 1 heck of a Siren in the book so far as I've read. I am more aware of what is going to happen next and can't wait to read Dangerous Creatures to find out more on the story of Link, Ridley, Lena, Ethan and the rest of the crew.

SECRET Revealed - L. Marie Adeline

S.E.C.R.E.T. Revealed bares all—the final book in the hot erotic trilogy
The only thing that Cassie Robichaud has ever really wanted is Will Foret, the love of her life. But when Will discovers that Cassie is part of S.E.C.R.E.T., an underground group devoted to helping women experience their deepest sexual fantasies, Will breaks it off. Heartbroken, Cassie dries her tears and focuses on her work with helping the latest S.E.C.R.E.T. recruit, Solange Faraday. Cassie also reignites her relationship with sexy bad-boy Jesse, even though she knows he can never love her as deeply as Will did.

Meanwhile, beautiful, brilliant Solange, a local news anchor and divorced mom, has a great career but a wilting love life. She rekindles long-lost passions, going deeper and hotter than any other S.E.C.R.E.T. candidates before her. Can Solange find what her heart most desires? And when Will realizes he's made a tragic mistake, will Cassie be able to forgive him?

S.E.C.R.E.T. Revealed is the explosive, sexually-charged finale to the phenomenal S.E.C.R.E.T. trilogy.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. It starts off where Secret Shared finished off. Brings in another character that was mostly in the background from Secret Shared. Solange is a vivacious woman who is a divorced woman with a child. She still has communication with her ex husband, but needs that push with her sexual side to come alive. It also carries along with the story of Will and Cassie. Cassie is now a partner in the business and she works while trying to avoid Will.
I found this very intriguing as the story unfolded with all the main characters and how the life goes. The chapters are about Solange and Cassie with the others added in to each chapter.
