Play Me Hot (Play Me #2) by Tracy Wolff
Return to a world of secrets and desires. In the sultry second installment of an eBook original serial from the New York Times bestselling author of Ruined and Addicted, Aria and Sebastian turn up the heat. But will they get burned?
My name is Aria Winston. I’ve fought desperately to escape the seedy underbelly of Las Vegas. Now I’m on my own, in control of my own life and my own destiny . . . just the way I like it. Until Sebastian Caine changes everything.
If getting tangled up with her new boss is wrong, Aria doesn’t want to be right. Powerful men usually have a way of thinking they can take whatever they want while giving nothing back, but Sebastian is different. He’s gentle with her body. Rough in all the right places. And hot enough to make Aria break every last rule she’s set for herself. But with her history, it’ll take more than mind-blowing sex to heal the pain deep inside . . . no matter how good Sebastian’s intentions are. She’s spent her entire life fighting for control of her own life, and no one’s going to take that from her. But the more time she spends in Sebastian’s world, the deeper she’s drawn into his sensual games.
Play Me is an erotic serial intended for mature audiences. Aria and Sebastian’s story continues in Play Me: Hard.
I was given this to review via Netgalley. This series just gets better and better.
Now we have Aria and Sebastian going at it like rabbits lol. Some of the BDSM quotes I have to look up as I am not sure on what they mean. I'm not into the scene like some people, but I am curious in reading about it in the books.
What happens next for Sebastian and Aria will continue in the next installment and I for 1 can't wait to see where these characters are going. What secrets are holding Aria and Sebastian back from telling each other stuff.

Play Me Wild (Play Me #1) by Tracy Wolff
In the seductive first installment of an eBook original serial from the New York Times bestselling author of Ruined and Addicted, a woman running from her past has finally found a bit of control . . . until her powerful new boss makes her go wild.
My name is Aria Winston. I’ve fought desperately to escape the seedy underbelly of Las Vegas. Now I’m on my own, in control of my own life and my own destiny . . . just the way I like it. Until Sebastian Caine changes everything.
Working as a cocktail waitress at one of Vegas’s hottest five-star casinos means putting up with a ton of bad behavior from the big spenders. But it pays the bills—and that’s all that matters to Aria, who needs every last dollar to escape from her father’s destructive grasp and the brutal man he expects her to marry. But when she lashes out against a billionaire who won’t take no for an answer, she nearly loses everything—until Sebastian steps in. The owner’s son and handpicked successor, Sebastian is dark, sexy, and kinder than any rich man should be. And when he apologizes and offers to keep her job safe, Aria can’t help the way her body reacts to his. Suddenly her job, and the security it brings her, isn’t the only thing Aria wants.
Play Me is an erotic serial intended for mature audiences. Aria and Sebastian’s story continues in Play Me: Hot.
I was given this via Netgalley. When you say Erotica, you automatically think LOADS of SEX lol. Well this book delivers on the steamy affair of Aria Winston and Sebastian Caine.
She's a Las Vegas Cocktail waitress and he's a Billionaire boss of a Casino. The sparks that come off these two when they meet and get together is nothing more than pleasure. But you will have to find out whether they sleep together or not in the next book Play Me: Hot

Persuasion by Jane Austen
Written at the end of the Napoleonic Wars, Persuasion is a tale of love, heartache and the determination of one woman as she strives to reignite a lost love. Anne Elliot is persuaded by her friends and family to reject a marriage proposal from Captain Wentworth because he lacks in fortune and rank. More than seven years later, when he returns home from the Navy, Anne realises she still has strong feelings for him, but Wentworth only appears to have eyes for a friend of Anne’s. Moving, tender, but intrinsically ‘Austen’ in style, with its satirical portrayal of the vanity of society in eighteenth-century England, Persuasion celebrates enduring love and hope.
I'm sorry to everyone who loves Classics. But I just couldn't get on with this story. Yes I liked some of the characters, but I really can't comprehend some stories. Yes I liked the Love Story side, but that was as far as I would go.

Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert
This beautifully written, heartfelt memoir touched a nerve among both readers and reviewers. Elizabeth Gilbert tells how she made the difficult choice to leave behind all the trappings of modern American success (marriage, house in the country, career) and find, instead, what she truly wanted from life. Setting out for a year to study three different aspects of her nature amid three different cultures, Gilbert explored the art of pleasure in Italy and the art of devotion in India, and then a balance between the two on the Indonesian island of Bali. By turns rapturous and rueful, this wise and funny author (whom Booklist calls "Anne Lamott's hip, yoga-practicing, footloose younger sister") is poised to garner yet more adoring fans.
I picked this up thinking it would be a good insight to a woman's journey to find out about herself. Also I needed a book for a challenge.
I found the book to be funny in parts and thought provoking in others. Not as much as it will stay with me.

Life on the Mississippi by Mark Twain
Life on the Mississippi is a memoir by Mark Twain detailing his days as a steamboat pilot on the Mississippi River before & after the American Civil War. The book begins with a brief history of the river from its discovery by Hernando de Soto in 1541. It continues with anecdotes about training as a steamboat pilot, as the 'cub' of an experienced pilot. He describes, with great affection, the science of navigating the ever-changing Mississippi River.
The 2nd half of the book describes Twain's return, many years later, to travel on a steamboat from St Louis to New Orleans. He describes the competition from railroads, the new, large cities & his observations on greed, gullibility, tragedy & bad architecture. He also tells some stories that are likely tall tales.
Simultaneously published in 1883 in the USA & in England, it's said to be the 1st book composed on a typewriter.
I picked this up due to a challenge. I am not sure what I think to be honest. I've never read anything by Mark Twain. I think I have seen Huckleberry Finn when I was a child.
I have liked the journey up and down the Mississippi, listening to the twang from those days when days you could just sit on the boat and work the river. Has been lovely listening to Mark Twain's book about his life on the Mississippi.

Silent Tears: A Journey Of Hope In A Chinese Orphanage by Kay Bratt
Irrepressible memories. Vacant eyes. A child being dangled from a third story window. A boy tied to a chair. Children sleeping in layers of clothing to fight off the bitter cold. An infant dying from starvation. Some things your mind will never allow you to forget.
Silent Tears is the true story of the adversity and triumphs one woman faced as she fought against the Chinese bureaucracy to help that country’s orphaned children.
In 2003, Kay Bratt’s life changed dramatically. A wife and mother of two girls in South Carolina, Bratt relocated her family to rural China to support her husband as he took on a new management position for his American employer. Seeking a way to fill her days and overcome the isolation she experienced upon arriving in a foreign country, Bratt began volunteering at the local orphanage. Within months, her simple desire to make use of her time transformed into a heroic crusade to improve the living conditions and minimize the unnecessary deaths of Chinese orphans.
Silent Tears traces the emotional hurdles and daily frustrations faced by Ms. Bratt as she tried to change the social conditions for these marginalized children. The memoir vividly illustrates how she was able to pull from reservoirs of inner strength to pursue her mission day after day, leaving the reader with the resounding message that everyone really can make a difference.
This was heart wrenching and very interesting about the insights of Children in China. In orphanages the way that they treat children and very sad when you hear Kay Bratt's version of events.

The Burning Girl - Lisa Unger
From New York Times bestselling author Lisa Unger comes the second of three e-novellas about a psychic medium and the strange secrets she begins to uncover--for better or for worse.
Ten years after Eloise Montgomery discovers her psychic abilities, she is a full-fledged working psychic, with a partner and a business. Now, in The Burning Girl, she's discovering some disturbing things: secrets about her genealogy that are, perhaps, best left in the past; that her granddaughter Finley has powers of her own; and that not all of Eloise's visitors actually want to be helped. Some of them are just looking for trouble...
Writing with the same taut prose that earned her critical acclaim for her explosive thriller Beautiful Lies, Lisa Unger delivers a spellbinding story that will leave you wanting more.
I was asked to review this via Netgalley. Well I picked this little beauty up, I was like right carry on the story of Eloise Montgomery and her psychic abilities lol. Well I was confused with the way the story was going. Not even sure what the Burning Girl has to do with the book, but I think the jist was to that she was haunting some other person. Also to find out that in her family background the psychic side is hereditary from her mother's side.
What's next for Eloise and who else has the same powers as her. What way will her relationship with the PI go?
The Whispers - Lisa Unger
Eloise Montgomery discovers her amazing gift in the wake of tragedy in this first of three captivating e-novellas from award-winning and New York Times bestselling author Lisa Unger.
It's a day like any other for Eloise Montgomery--until tragedy strikes. While she is recovering from a horrible accident that takes the lives of her husband and oldest daughter, and as she works to help her younger daughter move forward, Eloise experiences her first psychic vision. Though she struggles to understand her newfound gifts, Eloise finds a way use them to save lost women and girls--for whom her help may be the only way out...
From an author whose "gripping narrative and evocative, muscular prose" (Associated Press) have won her critical acclaim comes The Whispers: a story that delves deep into the human psyche and the mind of one unforgettable heroine.
I received this book via Netgalley. It starts off really weird to the extent that Lisa Unger makes the reader think she/he is reading a story of love lost through tragedy. But then she opens up a whole new language with Psychics through a woman who is left grieving for her husband and her eldest daughter whilst she tries to build hers and her other daughter's lives backs up.
A very interesting short book and can't wait to read the next book in this short trilogy.

Broken Build (Chance for Love #1) by Rachelle Ayala
Jen Jones hides a horrible secret behind her new degree, toned body, and exciting job at Silicon Valley’s hottest startup—until her ex-fiancé’s brother is killed in a hit-and-run.
CEO and founder Dave Jewell is about to land a huge deal. What he doesn’t need is blood on his car, threatening phone calls, and Jen wrapped in broken code and blackmail.
A gang of thugs hunts Jen, and she takes refuge in Dave’s protective arms. Together, they must thwart a killer and rescue an innocent victim from their past. Love blossoms, but a damaging revelation points straight at Jen, threatening to tear them apart forever.
I picked this up as it was a good book to read for a challenge I am doing.
The story is a brilliant way of telling Love, Betrayal, Hope and Redemption. Based around a computer company. A woman with secrets, a man who wants to know the truth about what happened 6 years ago. Police involved, murder and mayhem.
Will be reading more Rachelle Ayla books in the future.

The Candidate: Luxembourg Thriller by Daniel Pembrey
Nick Thorneycroft is a British headhunter working in Luxembourg. His company asks him to recruit a high-flying executive for the company's Russian business. The best candidate turns out to be smart, beautiful... and mysterious. Soon the effects of Russia’s political upheaval, and the arrival of an ex-girlfriend who won’t leave him alone, make Nick’s Luxembourg life increasingly perilous; worlds collide in this gripping, atmospheric tale.
I was given this via Netgalley a while ago. I thought I would see what Mr Pembrey's books was like as I have a few to read lol.
Well I can honestly say, I have no idea what this book is about. All I am getting is that Nick Thorneycroft is a headhunter for a company and has no idea who this gorgeous Russian woman is but his company has to have her for their company.

Thorn in My Side by Karin Slaughter
It could have been just any night, and they could have just been any two brothers -- but it wasn't, and they weren't. The scene is an Atlanta bar. The music is loud and the dance floor is packed. The good-looking brother picks up a girl. But when dark deeds ensue out in the parking lot, what happens next can only be described in two words: vintage Slaughter.
Another short Kindle and OMG Karin Slaughter at her best. Even in a short story she has packed a punch in a story that will make you want more. But very confusing with the story of Conjoined twins who want to be normal. But I think it's funny in places as if you're reading about 2 different twins who are feeling different stuff.
Not sure what I think really, but just love the way Karin Slaughter writes her Thrillers.
A Breach of Security (Kindle Single) by Susan Hill
When a bunch of neo-fascist thugs named The Bulldogs attack a Gay pride march in the sleepy country town of Lafferton, detective Simon Serrailler moves quickly to find the assailants. He’s already got his hands full making security arrangements for a memorial service to honour soldiers returning from Afghanistan. When anonymous threats come in, Serrailler wonders if the Bulldogs are behind these too – and worries that they know the Prince of Wales will be in attendance. As the day approaches, the threats intensify, and Serrailler finds himself racing against the clock to prevent catastrophe.
I've just found this little Kindle Single on Amazon Unlimited from an author who's books I've loved through the ghost story I read and others.
I didn't realise that it was a part of the Simon Serrailller series. But I don't think it matters if you hadn't read any of the series. I found the book enjoyable and some stuff deals with stuff that you see every day. A good short story with some twists and turns from a marvellous author who can certainly write brilliant novels. I look forward to reading her Simon Serrailler series soon.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium #1) by Stieg Larsson
Mikael Blomkvist, a once-respected financial journalist, watches his professional life rapidly crumble around him. Prospects appear bleak until an unexpected (and unsettling) offer to resurrect his name is extended by an old-school titan of Swedish industry. The catch—and there’s always a catch—is that Blomkvist must first spend a year researching a mysterious disappearance that has remained unsolved for nearly four decades. With few other options, he accepts and enlists the help of investigator Lisbeth Salander, a misunderstood genius with a cache of authority issues. Little is as it seems in Larsson’s novel, but there is at least one constant: you really don’t want to mess with the girl with the dragon tattoo.
I was reading this book for a challenge and part of a Twin thing.
I found the characters quite boring, some of the language was bizarre. Not sure what the Dragon Tattoo had to do with the story and finding people. The main character who was the journalist was a bit like chasing his own tail with different women. Meant to go to prison for something and finding the person.
Very Weird Book in my opinion x

After a single unforgettable night binds them body and soul, Dane knows he won’t rest until Katherine is safe in his arms—and the Valentine Killer is dead. Dark and intensely sexy, this romantic suspense novel from USA Today bestselling author Cynthia Eden is sure to leave readers breathless.
When I picked up Mommy, May I?, it was suggested to read Die For Me. I thought ok, this might sound like a great read. Since I've been listening to the story, I am kinda liking the story. The way the story goes through back and forth with some sexual scenes that are like woah lol.
Katherine Cole is a frightened woman with a past. She was a witness to a murder. The murderer was her ex fiance. She never saw who the murderer was when she moved to New Orleans. Who would of thought the killer was who they found out it was. A good thriller.

Mommy, May I? by A.K. Alexander
Sixteen years ago, Helena Shea was an up-and-coming fashion model, until an affair with a married man, an unexpected pregnancy, and a drug scandal cost her almost everything. Now CEO of her own modeling agency and founder of a home for wayward mothers, Helena has spent years trying to atone for her sins…but with just one horrifying phone call, they come rushing back again.
A depraved killer has set his sights on Helena, seeking vengeance for the day she robbed him of his only chance at happiness. Now he plans to return the favor—by kidnapping Helena’s estranged daughter, Frankie. To save her, Helena must face the demons of her past, joining forces with her former lover and the journalist who nearly ruined her, embarking upon a terrifying game of cat-and-mouse. Mommy, May I? transports readers into the deepest, darkest corners of a killer’s mind, a twisting psychological thriller that will resonate long after the final page is turned.
I picked this up thinking it sounds like a good psychological thriller. Well I've laughed at places where I don't think I should of done. The main character Richard Shelton who is the psychopath. His past is so excruciating that I wouldn't wanna meet him on a dark night. His parents are a weird set and I swear incest was part of the storyline (weird I know). Some of the story was like boring and I was like "Get on with it and hurry up with the story". Helena and her family and stuff is ok, just felt sorry for her, as the lead original police officer had a grudge against her as well as the main psychopath Richard Shelton. I'm not sure if I fancy reading anymore of her books, but will see what the synopsis is on the next books.

Will Allie and Shane be able to withstand what her past throws at them to put an end to their happiness? Will they ever be able to be Together Forever?
*Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.
I was asked to review this by the author a while ago. Unfortunately other stuff got in the way lol. I've read books 1 and 3 for the author and all I can say for this author, is WATCH OUT and READ all 3 Forever Series books. This will make sense once you read My Saviour Forever as the characters all know each other through the 3 books.
I LOVED all the characters in the 3 books. Shane is as sexy and gorgeous as you could want in a book boyfriend and Allie aka Alexa is drop dead gorgeous with an overprotective brother and a past that NO ONE would want to go through. The things these two lovely characters get up to with the sex scenes are HOT HOT HOT.
ENJOY when you get to read these books.

The Kite Runner - Khaled Hosseini
“It may be unfair, but what happens in a few days, sometimes even a single day, can change the course of a whole lifetime."
Khaled Hosseini's #1 New York Times Bestselling Debut
Amir is the son of a wealthy Kabul merchant, a member of the ruling caste of Pashums. Hassan, his servant and constant companion, is a Hazara, a despised and impoverished caste. Their uncommon bond is torn by Amir's choice to abandon his friend amidst the increasing ethnic, religious, and political tensions of the dying years of the Afghan monarchy, wrenching them far apart. But so strong is the bond between the two boys that Amir journeys back to a distant world, to try to right past wrongs against the only true friend he ever had.
The unforgettable, heartbreaking story of the unlikely friendship between a wealthy boy and the son of his father’s servant, The Kite Runner is a beautifully crafted novel set in a country that is in the process of being destroyed. It is about the power of reading, the price of betrayal, and the possibility of redemption; and an exploration of the power of fathers over sons—their love, their sacrifices, their lies.
A sweeping story of family, love, and friendship told against the devastating backdrop of the history of Afghanistan over the last thirty years, The Kite Runner is an unusual and powerful novel that has become a beloved, one-of-a-kind classic.
I've read this author before about 6 years ago. I read A Thousand Splendid Suns. His book didn't disappoint then and hadn't disappointed me now. I guessed a few things in the book, it was different and eye opening to the past and to see the history through the eyes of real Afghans and the way they saw things. I hated a couple of the characters in the book as they were rather nasty and like 1 of them said he looked up to Hitler. Well, I send praise to Mr Hosseini for his book and the way he interpreted the characters.

His House of Submission - Justine Elyot
He's a collector with some kinky interests on the side. She's here to catalogue his most prized possessions. But will she end up being one of them?
Sarah arrives at Jasper Jay's country house thinking she has been hired to take an inventory of his large collection of historical artefacts. But when she and her lover, Will, are caught by Jasper sneaking a peek at some of his more private pieces, she starts to suspect a more ulterior motive.
Alone with Jasper in his secluded manor, Sarah finds herself enthralled by the enigmatic collector. Pretty soon, they’re entangled in an intense relationship of domination and submission that excludes the rest of the world.
Until it intrudes, in the form of a vengeful Will, bent on exposing everything his erstwhile boss has worked so hard to keep secret.
I was given this book in exchange for a review via Netgalley. I am sorry to say I never really grabbed the concept of this story. I found the characters rather boring and uneventful in my opinion. I could easily put this book down and not pick it up again. I'm not sure I can read the other 2 in the series.
Sorry to those who have enjoyed these books, but I find it a rather tedious chore to read about Sarah and Jasper's love life when all she has to do is be his servant.
